Who it's right for:

I work with people at all stages of life: transitioning to middle school,  high school or college, from college into the “real world”, dating, getting married, becoming a parent, going through a divorce, becoming a step parent and blending families, to the “empty nest” stage and taking care of aging parents.

Challenges you might be facing:

You may be at a turning point in your life, needing to make some tough decisions, or you may be feeling anxious and getting caught up in endless worry. Perhaps you’re depressed and having difficulty getting up in the morning, everyday tasks feel like a whole lot of effort and you're not functioning at your usual capacity. Or maybe you're worried about a child or your relationship with your partner and the stress and tension are overwhelming at times.

What you'll learn:

I will work with you to figure out how you got to this point and how you can move forward. Whether it is acceptance of what is, or getting to a place where you are able to repair relationships, to feel more connected to the people you love and to enjoy a feeling of satisfaction in who you are and what you do.

Who it's for:

With a background in education, years of experience working with children, and having worked intensively with parents of children with emotional, cognitive and behavioral difficulties, I am passionate about supporting families. Working with a therapist can be especially helpful for parents of kids who are struggling in some way. Whether it's having kids with special needs, experiencing the impact of divorce or blending families, or becoming a new parent, we can all benefit from talking things through with an experienced professional.

Challenges you might be facing:

As a parent, nothing is more important than our relationship with our children. We desperately want our children to be successful in school, to have supportive friendships, loving relationships and to fulfill their potential in academics, athletics and creative interests. Parenting can be incredibly stressful and it's easy to get drawn into a state of mind that makes us anxious and fearful.

What we can work on:

Working with a therapist offers parents a perspective that they may be unable to see when immersed in raising and providing for a family. I work with parents to take a step back, to look at the big picture, to “see” and understand your child for who he/she is and to build strong and supportive relationships with these young people you love.

Who it's for:

If you are experiencing tension or stress in your relationship, or if you and your partner are not communicating effectively, you may benefit from couples therapy. You may be feeling alone, rejected, abandoned, uncared for, disappointed, or hopeless. Your home may be filled with the sounds of arguing and yelling or it may be silent.

Challenges you might be facing:

You may be feeling lonely and unsupported, even though you have a partner or spouse. You may be trying to find ways to feel more connected or you may be thinking about separating.

Your feelings may be impacting your family and your work.

What we can work on:

We work on giving each person the opportunity to express what he/she is feeling in a way that your partner is able to hear you without getting defensive.

While the focus is on nurturing greater
connection and intimacy in the relationship, we also pay attention to supporting the hopes and dreams of each person within the couple.
